A project I thought to had lost to time, but thankfully managed to find recently - and I couldn't be more glad to have found it. It's probably the project I hold the most sentimental value to.
The idea for this artwork started from the will to capture a bit of my (then 2-year-old) sister's bedroom. What followed was a much-needed collaboration effort between me and her - we both got to work, and 3D scanned a couple of her favorite toys and an assortment of random objects that were lying around.
A couple of objects had inconsistent or harder-to-scan shapes, so there was quite a bit of hand modeling involved as well. Besides this, there were a couple of external assets used.
My main focus of this was to highlight the subtle imperfections that make these virtual objects feel real - a lot of that was done through shading and texture work.
